The creative process J. Cole goes through from, really shows that he eats, sleeps, and breathes music everyday.
The album is pretty funk inspired. When I first heard it, I thought classic funk/hippie artist like Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, and obviously the Funkadelics.
If we were back in the 90’s these would the slow songs you hear in the school gym dances. The album “Starboy” is a great addition to his discography.
This album reflects a sad story of losing someone you love. The sadness is pretty noticeable in tracks like “In heaven”. I like how sad and casual the album can be
Great experimental sounds found through out the album. The slow vocals really put me in a trance. His voice has like a “dream like” effect on it. The instruments and his voice are just bouncing from left to right in a chill way.

I fully enjoyed the imperfection and the emphasis on the bass drums; and the vocals stand out perfectly over the instrumentals. The Good The guitar work
Setting the Mood A new artist I found while on Album of the Year.com. I was mainly just browsing the rock section and chose a random band/artist I never heard of. I honestly think that is the beauty of doing music reviews. I have the option to discover new music everyday. I sit here
When I listen to the new album “A Moon Shaped Pool” by Radiohead , I’m feel a deep appreciation for the ‘art rock’ genre.
I wouldn’t say they are different from other indie rock bands, but I can’t help but love these vocals and ‘down-to-earth’ lyrics.
When I listen to the album “Human Performances”, I am taken away by some of their weird catchy songs about things like “Dust”.
When I listen to the new album “The Glowing Man” by Swans, I imagine a world of limitless possibilities.
