One of the greatest game creators out there, Hideo Kojima, is now Konami free. A new trailer from Kojima Production’s firs game “Death Stranding” was revealed at this year’s E3. The game’s main protagonist is none other than Norman Reedus, the trailer is fantastic, but very vague. There’s not much going on in the trailer, but there is what seems like a lot of symbolism. Typical to Kojima, there is a lot to decipher in this trailer, if you want to take the time to analyze. And surely he is hiding all the details until the game is released.
As we all know Konami decided to stop focusing on big game titles and instead it will now be dedicated to the mobile platforms and pachinko machines. Some of my favorite titles like Castlevania and Silent Hill are up in the air right now, and we know that Kojima and Konami parted ways. Giving us the last Metal Gear game with Kojima at the helm. Also a Silent Hill playable teaser that was cancelled and removed from the online shops.
Norman Reedus was the protagonist for the cancelled Silent Hill project. To be created in collaboration by Hideo Kojima and Benicio Del Toro. The playable teaser that was released was one of the best horror demo at the time it was released. It was innovative and sparked a lot of other similar horror games. Sadly, this Silent Hill game will never be. However, Benicio Del Toro and Kojima said that there is no reason why they can’t collaborate on a different project.
Let us hope that Hideo Kojima kept or improved some of those innovative ideas that were going to be used in the Silent Hill game. The trailer looks very strange and ghostly; I can’t wait to see the actual gameplay. I am speculating that the actual game will not take place where the trailer takes place, or it might be the intro to the game and we must figure out why and how we got there. We will keep you posted as more details develop. See the trailer for yourselves below:
