Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice Available September 8th

The release date for new 3DS game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice was announced by Capcom. The game will be released on September 8, and it will be available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. No physical release is mentioned which is disappointing. Perhaps later we get a special edition in physical form. One can only hope. A new trailer was also made available to showcase the games characters and abilities (catch the trailer below). Spirit of Justice takes place after the events of previous game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. We find Phoenix Wright in the Far East land of Khura’in, known for the Kurain Channeling Technique. An ability used in previous installments. Our friend Apollo Justice is facing his own challenges back home at the Wright Anything Agency.

Spirit of JusticeOne of the reasons Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney has such a cult following are the fun, memorable characters. Which is why fans are excited to know that longtime favorite Maya Fey is making a return. Maya is known as being Wright’s right hand woman in past installments, and we haven’t seen her since Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations. Although she did make a cameo in the Ace Attorney spin off “Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth”, available for the Nintendo DS. Apparently Maya Fey was in training in the land of Khura’in. And she will be an integral part of the story in Spirit of Justice, and conveniently Phoenix Wright is handling some matters in Khura’in.

phoenix2There will be plenty of other favorite characters making a return or at least a cameo in one way or another. But that is part of the fun in the Phoenix Wright games, so we’ll leave it at that. The game will retail for $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS, and will be available in Europe and North America starting September 8. A demo will be available August 25, for those who just can’t wait. The demo contains the first courtroom scenario, where you can try the game’s new feature “Divination Séance”. Stay tuned as we bring you more news on all things Phoenix Wright related. If you’ve been following the anime over on crunchyroll, check out our review of episodes 1-3.
