‘SNES Classic’ Confirmed by Nintendo

The SNES Classic if finally here. It was just confirmed by Nintendo earlier today. The official name for the system will be ‘Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System’ launches in Europe on September 29th, 2017.

Here’s a tweet from

The SNES Classic

According to Nintendo, The ‘Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System’ contains 21 classic games and can easily be plugged into any high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable. After a hugely successful launch of the Nintendo Classic, Nintendo will most likely be successful with the launch of this console. The one thing they might make or break the system will be the supply and demand factor.

Last year when the NES Classic came out, they sold too fast. No one was able to get their hands on one. Craigslist and Ebay had people selling the console for over $200! If this console can’t meet the demands of the consumer, then the console might be outshined by another emulator competitor.

The Gamelist

Here’s the full list of games for the SNES Classic, coming this fall:

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
Final Fantasy III
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
Yoshi’s Island

In the end, we are all excited for anything new from Nintendo. We are always rooting for them in the end. I hope this mini console does great. I know I’ll be one of the first people to try and grab one. Although, if they do sell out quick like last time, you might have to wait a few months before another batch is released.

At the moment the system is not up for pre-order but Amazon is doing an alert pre order if you sign up for it. Gamestop will be doing pre-orders as well you just have to keep calling them. Best buy as well, but they don’t have a notification to when it will be released. I recommend just calling your local Gamestop and signing up for Amazon’s notification list.
